Ideally located on the banks of Dal Lake, with a panoramic view, Hotel Akbar is a good choice for a laid back holiday. The staff are extremely nice, prompt & willing to help. Taxis and Shikaras arranged with reasonable prices. Food variety was limited. Room cleaning, changing of Towels etc. is not done, unless u ask for. Hot water bottle to keep warm was supplied on demand. Room was spacious. TV has very few good channels. Frequent power cuts & disruption of hot water were constant worries, always rectified by staff. Power cut is all over the city. Nice garden. The wooden bridge to Hotel is atrocious, which they say will have a rod access soon. Laundry costly. On the whole it was a good hang out there worth the money. I recommend this hotel.
