The hotel was perfect for the trip. As a regular visitor to the group, got upgraded from the club to a suite. The rooms were very clean and the stay was very pleasant and satisfying. Would recommend this hotel to any traveller wither on a biz or a personal visit.

Good

The room was reasonably clean, but poorly designed. Situated on a busy main road , it had nothing by way of a view. Room service was prompt, with not much of a choice and not really good value for money. The balcony was covered up on the outerside and was locked from inside and it took some time to get some one to open it. The morning paper took ages to reach on the first morning. Wish there were a tub in the bath room and may be a bucket and a mug. The front office staff was cheerful and friendly . Felt that the building was not designed for a hotel with the narrow passage way leading to the room provided.

Good location and reasonable price. Hospitality could be little improved. Dinner Buffet spread was great - however taste could have been little better. Still overall nice experience.

Just back from calicut,Kerala. Our three day stay from 7th April 2010, was very good. There was only one hitch. On the very first day at 6pm,my wife was taking a shower and without warning the shower went to sleep! No water! We were on the sixth floor Room no.611.I was away and she was wet and it was not the right time to call for help as it could give out a wrong signal,if a male turned up.Not to worry of course, I told her in good humour later, since she is just seventy!Jokes apart, such a thing should not have happened. But then this happened to me too the very next day at the same time at 6pm!Some hotel ghost!I just gave up the matter as God's will.No use complaining as it was beyond the hotel staff to rectify it.But overall the stay was very good. The breakfast was just wonderful.Hotel ambience is lovely and the view from the sixth floor was just great, since Vasco's calicut is full of coconut trees even way beyond the horizon.Staff were very nice and courteous.Check out was speedy and we

A nice decent hotel with comfortable room. Though, Calicut is a small town, location was good with good service. But the breakfast served was pathetic.

Calicut: I was on a personal visit from Bangalore to Calicut on a weekend in May, 2010. There are many buses from Bangalore, but one must really book in advance for a weekend. This was my first visit. We found Calicut to be a really open city. It had wide roads and the population density seemed to be very less. I would call it a middle to high level society with posh green areas around and comparatively pollution free atmosphere. Moreover, calicut is a city with 99% literacy rate, which is another reason we wanted to explore this educated society. Hotel in Calicut: Fortune Hotel (WelcomeGroup), Kannur Road: We stayed at this hotel. This hotel as it said in the review, 3 star hotel with 4 star facilities. It really keeps its words. It was very satisfactory stay. This is one of the best service/cum economical hotels in Calicut. Not prejudiced. Let me explain with facts and experience. Room & facilities: The Room was a truly 4 star room with all the amenities that one w

I stayed in club room. The hotel is located in the heart of the city. Kapad beach is at 11 kms from Hotel and kozhikode beach is just 2 kms. The service was also good. The main problem was cleanliness and the cooling effect of A\c. I went in December and I was still sweating in my room. The bed sheet and pillow covers were very dirty and we had to get them changed. Balcony was very dirty. Room was not prepared well when we checked in. The refrigerator was empty and the water bottle was also not provided. In bathroom there was no mats or even hand towels. The food menu is limited for Vegetarian North Indian food and food quality was just ok. Mainly because of cleanliness of room or shall I call lack of it, I won't like to stay in fortune hotel again.

The hotel is just 2km from the main city. The hotel is lovely with exceptional service. The room had lots of space with attached bathroom. But the interior was of bit old style. The quality of food was amazing in taste. We had used the swimming pool, it was clean. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

To me, if the food where you stay is good, with even just a moderate boarding facilities - the stay would make me feel pleasant. I landed in Calicut enroute my trip to a resort in Wayanad for an over night stay. I have never stayed @ this place before and this is the first time I went there to stay and I should say that my experience is not so good, except for the front desk staff. There is a lot of scope for improvement for this place, especially the restaurant. The food was all super oily and unhealthy. The staff working in the restaurant are not trained in any hotel management related courses and are the local chaps from the nearby places. Me being a non-localite, did not know the language and hence do not understand malayalam. The staff was not well conversant in English / Hindi, truly surprising for my understanding of Kerala elsewhere. The man who took me and my wife on a boat ride spoke communicated to be in better english than the restaurant staff did. The omlet
